House Of Goad

My Place of Peace

In my everyday life of cares and woes,
I often need a refuge where to go.
A place of contentment and of peace,
A quiet place of sweet release.

I know this quaint church hidden away,
From the rushing highways it makes it's stay.
A beautiful sanctuary all tucked away,
Nestled in trees that give quite a display.

The colors of richness that belong to God,
Away from the busy path, where men trod.
The light from it's windows welcome me in.
To have repose from worldly things and sin.

Perched upon its pointed roof,
A steeple which beckons beyond the trees.
Peeping up for all to see,
And welcomes you, "Come worship with me."

Beautiful stained glass windows all aglow
Telling the story of Jesus you know.
The plan of salvation is painted there,
With careful strokes and with the Master's care.

Once inside, a great feeling of awe,
Beckons you to come and heed His call.
A quaint little altar is waiting you there,
Where all your cares, with Him you share.

So look for this little edifice
Built to honor our Lord
Marvel in His Presence you feel,
As you enter through it's doors.
